ASHRIDGE PARK ROYALS AT MADJESKI

Reading FC Football in the Community invited Ashridge Park Royals to take part in the Community Penalty Cup at Madejski Stadium on Saturday October 1 2005. They won the first round 3-2 playing in front of more than 20,000 people and progressed to the next round.
On 3 January they played in front of more than 25,000 and were unlucky to go out 1-0.

(Throughout the 2005/6 season 16 local under 12s teams will take part in an American style penalty shoot-out. Each week two teams compete during half-time on the Madejski pitch. The winners will progress through two rounds, followed by the semi-final and culminating in the final on the last home game of the 2005/6 season.)

2006 East Berkshire Intermediate League and Plate

Despite some courageous performances, sometimes playing with only 9 boys through sickness and injuries obtained off the pitch, the team lost all their matches in the first half of the League this season.  In order to give the players better opportunities of improving their game, the team dropped out of Division 2 and played the remainder of the season as a friendly addition to Division 3.

This was more enjoyable for the boys and they played most of the teams in Divison 3 and succeeded in keeping the ball for longer periods and scoring some goals.  There were no red or yellow cards and no-one missed a game through injuries sustained on the pitch.  The team finished the 11 a side season with another friendly against Bracknell Colts (drawing 3-3).

Christmas Party

This years Christmas Party was snowtubing down the main dry ski slope at John Nike Bracknell. Good stamina training running up the hill - and was also enjoyed by the parents.

Tournaments

The Under 12s will be competing at Sandhurst am. on 20th May and TWO teams in the Ashridge Park tournament at St Crispins.

New players are still invited to join for next season and they are sure to play in a game every week (except school holidays).  Training takes place at Keep Hatch Park at 18:30 on Wednesdays.
