Please email me any match information to be added to or linked from this page Match Reports Sunday 10th September 2006: Ashridge Park 1-0 3M Ashridge started their new campaign with a win after a hard fought battle with 3M. The only goal of the game came midway through the first half with Ryan Millward blasting home a low free kick on his debut to seal the points. Ashridge could have doubled their lead if Roddy Clark had not been judged to have been off side, following a quick counter attack by Matt Barclay. 3M forced the play during the second period as they went in search for an equaliser, Ashridge held on though to take the points. Sunday 17th September 2006: Woodley Hammers 1-2 Ashridge Park Ashridge continued their good start to the season with a narrow victory against a well organised Woodley side. Woodley opened the scoring after the break with a towering header from an in swinging corner. Ashridge got back on level terms soon after, as Chris Blanchard reacted quickest to nod home for the equaliser. The Ashridge winner came late on, as Neil Hanger pulled a low ball back for Chris Blanchard to fire in his second and the resulting match winner. Sunday 1st October 2006: Ashridge Park 2 - 2 Queens Head After a game of missed chances, Ashridge had to settle for their first draw of the season. Ryan Millward opened the scoring for the home side with a well taken shot, following a deep run from mid field. The Queens Head were on level terms soon after as a cross come shot deceived Trevor Monk in the Ashridge goal and nestled in the far corner. Before the interval Ashridge had regained their lead, Neil Hanger finishing off from close range. As Ashridge went in search of a third goal to seal the game, the Queens Head caught the home side on the break, with a well taken second goal. Sunday 8th October: AFC NAM 3 - 3 Ashridge Park A tight game with missed chances saw this game go right to the wire. Ashridge went in at half time 1 - 0 up following a close range shot from Neil Hanger in the 37 minute. Hanger added to his first half strike midway through the second half following some good approach play by the Ashridge team. NAM battled hard and got themselves back on level terms through two soft goals, leaving the game wide open. Ashridge pressed for the winner but could not find the net and were hit on the counter attack with a well worked goal from NAM. With less than 2 minutes on the clock, Ashridge through everything forward and were rewarded with a very late Paul Blanchard strike in the dying seconds to share the points. Sunday 15th October 2006 FC Wokingham 1 - 2 Ashridge Park Ashridge recorded their third win of the season, following a fine away performance against FC Wokingham. Ashridge led at the break, after Paul Blanchard latched onto a through ball from Neil Hanger to slide home the opener. Ashridge looked to have sealed the win following a fantastic display by the back four, only for FC to equalise in the last five minutes. As the game drew to a close, Ashridge seized the initiative to collect all three points, Paul Blanchard crossing for Neil Hanger to slot home his fourth of the season and the resulting match winner. Sunday 22nd October 2006 Ashridge Park 3 - 2 Rides United Reserves Ashridge extended their unbeaten run to four matches following a narrow victory over Rides Utd Reserves. Ashridge opened the scoring in the early stages of the first half, Ryan Millward heading in after Neil Hanger had his initial penalty saved. Rides then responded with a well taken goal, however Ashridge regained their lead before the break, Paul Blanchard cutting it back for Dave Clifford to head home. Rides equalised for the second time early in the second half after benefiting from a route one ball. Ashridge went on to seal the win with a well worked third goal, Neil Hanger crossing for Paul Blanchard to head home the match winner. Sunday 12th November 2006 Winkfield 4 - 2 Ashridge Park Ashridge slipped to their third defeat of the season, after a narrow defeat against the league leaders. Ashridge opened the scoring, as Dave Clifford crossed for Neil Hanger to head home the opener. Winkfield responded well and grabbed their equaliser after reacting quickest to a rebound from a free kick. Just before the interval Winkfield scored a second, with a well taken lob. Winkfield extended their lead after the break with another route one effort, only for Ashridge to peg them back, with a well taken free kick by Ryan Millward. Ashridge pushed on for the equaliser but were caught out on the break, as Winkfield scored their decisive fourth goal. Sunday 19th November 2006 Woodley Hammers 5 - 1 Ashridge Park A very even opening 45 minutes saw Woodley Hammers take the lead early on, only to concede to a late close range equaliser from Rob Prior - Lang. After the break Ashridge went further behind and pushed forward to get back into the game, but through some naive defending and poor finishing, found themselves 5 - 1 down at the final whistle, a score line that flattered the home side. Sunday 3rd December 2006 Ashridge Park 7 - 1 AFC Nam Ashridge registered their largest victory of the season to date, after a resounding victory over AFC Nam. Despite the scoreline it was Nam who opened the scoring early in the first half. Ashridge equalised midway through the first half as Neil Hanger slotted home after good build up play. After the interval there was only really one team in it, Neil Hanger grabbed his second and soon after Dave Clifford bundled home a third. After coming on as a second half sub, Dave Clifford then scored his second and arguably the goal of the match as he curled an effort in with the outside of his foot into the top corner. Before the end Ashridge managed to pile on even more misery as further strikes from James Clubley, Matt Barclay and Paul Blanchard ensured the comprehensive win. Sunday 10th December 2006 Finchampstead Athletic A 1-5 Ashridge Park Ashridge registered their sixth win of the campaign with a well deserved victory over Finch A. Ashridge opened the scoring with a penalty by Ryan Millward after Neil Hanger had been brought down inside the box. Ashridge continued to dominate the first half, and were rewarded with further strikes by Paul Blanchard and Ryan Millward. Finch fought back bravely in the second half, but soon found themselves four down, as Ryan Millward completed his hat-trick with another well taken penalty. Finch pulled one back later on as a well delivered free kick caught a deflection off an Ashridge boot. However this proved to be just a consolation strike as Ashridge rounded off the scoring with a well taken effort by Paul Blanchard. Sunday 17th December 2006 Rides Utd Reserves 3-3 Ashridge Park Ashridge had to settle for their third draw of the season after letting a two goal lead slip. Rides started the brighter and deservedly went ahead early in the match. Ashridge responded well and two strikes from Ryan Millward ensured Park went in 2-1 up at the break. Ashridge extended their lead in the second half, as Paul Blanchard fired in from the edge of the box. Rides continued to press and were rewarded with two late strikes. Sunday 4th February 2007 3M 2-2 Ashridge Park Ashridge recorded their fourth draw of the season after letting another two goal lead slip. Ashridge were two up by the interval following goals by Colin Monk and Matt Barclay. 3M responded well in the second half and deservedly got something from the game. Sunday 18th February 2007 Ashridge Park 2-3 Finchampstead Athletic Sunday A Ashridge continued their poor form in 2007, with a disappointing display against a well organised Finch side. Finch opened the scoring after starting the brighter, however Ashridge responded well and soon equalised as Ryan Millward slotted home from just inside the penalty box. Ashridge then scored a second as Patrick Lucas tapped in from close range after the Finch keeper had failed to hold a free kick. Then just before the break Finch equalised, following hesitant Ashridge defending. After the break the poor conditions helped neither side, Finch scored the winner mid way through the second period and held on to collect all three points. Sunday 11th March 2007 Ashridge Park 2 - 2 Winkfield Ashridge had to settle for their fifth draw of the season after conceding a late penalty. After a goal less first half Winkfield opened the scoring soon after the interval. Ashridge responded well and goals from Matt Barclay and Paul Blanchard looked to have won the game. Winkfield converted their last minute penalty to draw level./ Sunday 18th March 2007 BMW 3 - 3 Ashridge Park BMW and Ashridge had to settle for a point each, after Ashridge had let a three goal lead slip. Ashridge opened the scoring during the first half, Ian Batterbee bundling home from close range. After the interval Ashridge continued to press, squandering a hat full of clear chances before capitalising on their possession with two more goals. Matt Tanner added the second and Dan Booth scored the third from the penalty spot, following a foul on Ryan Millward. BMW continued to push forward and were rewarded with three goals all in the space of eight minutes. Both sides went in search of a winner, however neither side quite managed a killer fourth. Sunday 25th March 2007 Wokingham Wanderers 4 - 3 Ashridge Park Ashridge slipped to their fifth defeat of the season after a narrow loss against Wokingham Wanderers. Wokingham opened the scoring after Ashridge had failed to clear their lines. Ashridge scored their equaliser soon after as Matt Barclay finished well following an excellent defence splitting pass from Dan Booth. Before the interval Wokingham regained their lead however it did not last for long as Ryan Millward grabbed a second for Ashridge just before the break. Ashridge scored a third through Ryan Millward, although Wokingham Wanderers responded well with two further strikes to seal a four three win. Sunday 1st April 2007 Ashridge Park FC 1 - 2 BMW (UK) FC BMW opened the scoring from a corner when Ashridge failed to clear their lines, the one goal remained the difference in a first half of few chances from either team. Early into the second half BMW slotted home from close range to take a two goal lead which they held onto until ten minutes from the end when Ashridge clawed their way back into the game with a well worked one two on the right resulting in a low cross which was put away by Chris Blanchard. Ashridge continued to pressure the BMW goal but with the clock running down they failed to find the net, the early second strike being enough for BMW to take all three points. Sunday 15th April 2007 Ashridge Park FC 1 - 2 FC Wokingham A well organised FC Wokingham took the game to Ashridge and were rewarded with a goal on 15 minutes, pegged back in their own half Ashridge relied on the long ball, but lacking height up front they failed to trouble the Wokingham defence. The early strike remained the difference as the first half came to a close. Ashridge with more purpose in their step started the second half determined to take the game to Wokingham and following a well worked free kick from David May outside the box, Ryan Millward headed home the equaliser. Both teams went looking for the winner with Ashridge having to defend resolutely, however a late strike secured all three points for Wokingham who finished the game with ten men following a late red card. Sunday 22nd April 2007 Queens Head 1 - 8 Ashridge Park Ashridge finished their last game of the season with an outstanding performance against the Queens Head. Ryan Millward scored the first Ashridge goal of the game and after missing a number of good chances Ashridge went in at the break just the one goal up. During the second half the Queens Head defence crumbled, Matt Barclay made it two from the penalty spot and soon after Ryan Millward added a third with a well taken lob. The Queens Head pulled one back after being awarded a penalty, however this proved to be only a consolation as further strikes from Dave Clifford, Chris Blanchard, two for Luke Smith and a third for Ryan Millward to complete his hat-trick ensured Ashridge would finish the season on a high. |
