3M FC 0 - 6 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge got the season off to a positive start hitting the net six times - the 3M keeper kept his team in the game in the first half denying Ashridge 4 times to keep the scores level at half time. Ashridge stepped up a gear in the second half and proved comfortable winners with a hatrick from Jon Austin, two from Ryan Millward and the sixth coming from Patrick Lucas to round off a good team performance. Sunday 30th September 2007 Ashridge Park FC 6 - 0 Finchampstead Athletic Sunday A FC Ashridge got their second win of the season following a fine display against Finch. At the break Ashridge led three nil, after goals from Jonathan Austin, Luke Smith and Patrick Lucas. Soon after the interval Scott Smith scored with a great free-kick and Ryan Millward completed the win with a brace. Sunday 7th October 2007 Ashridge Park FC 0 - 3 Rides Utd Ashridge were unlucky to go 1 down after 20 minutes from a deflected shot from outside of the box, Rides struck again for their 2nd just before the break. The tempo of the game moved up a notch in the second half, good movement and approach play by Rides was rewarded with a 3rd well finished goal. Ashridge were prevented from gaining the rhythm that they had shown in previous games and despite some late pressure they were unable to breakdown the Rides defence. The referee played his part in what was a good clean competitive game that ended with Rides picking up all 3 points. Sunday 14th October 2007 Ashridge Park FC 3 - 2 FC Priestwood Ashridge progressed to the second round of the County Cup with a narrow victory against FC Priestwood. Ashridge raced into a two goal lead with two strikes from Jon Austin following some impressive build up play. FC Priestwood pulled one back before the break with a penalty and deservedly equalised with a well taken header after starting the second half stronger. With the game evenly balanced Ashridge seized the initiative and went on to score the decisive third goal with Scott Smith firing home from 20 yards. Sunday 21st October 2007 Woodley Hammers FC 5 - 2 Ashridge Park FC Woodley Hammers strong first half performance secured all 3 points despite a spirited fight back from Ashridge Park. Strong approach play by Hammers coupled with good movement on and off the ball was rewarded with 3 early goals and with a 4th goal just before the interval Ashridge found themselves with it all to do. With some tactical substitutions in the second half Ashridge took the game to Hammers and despite a 5th goal against the run of play Ashridge pressed on to be rewarded with 2 goals both coming from crosses, the first from Jon Austin and the second from Ryan Millward. However this was not enough and the game finished with Woodley Hammers deserving winners on the day. Sunday 28th October 2007 Bracknell & District SFL Junior Cup: Dukes Head FC 4 - 7 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge progressed to the second round of the Bracknell Junior Cup with a comfortable victory against the Dukes Head. A high scoring first half ended 4-3 to Ashridge with goals from Lewis White, Amrit Pal Labana and a brace from Ryan Millward. Early in the second half the Dukes Head equalised with a penalty, however Ashridge ran out worthy winners with three more second half goals from Amrit Pal Labana and a double from Jon Austin. Sunday 4th November 2007 Ashridge Park FC 2 - 5 Winkfield Sports FC Against the run of play Ashridge took the lead with a fine 25 yd strike from Ryan Millward only to see Winkfield Sport hit back straight away and complete the first half with a further 2 goals. Ashridge played better in the second half closing the gap with a close range strike from leading goal scorer Jon Austin, only to see Winkfield Sport seal the game with 2 late goals securing all 3 points. Sunday 11th November 2007 Ashridge Park FC 1 - 6 Woodley Hammers (Reading) Res A very well organised Woodley Hammers progressed into the third round with a comfortable win over Ashridge Park. A below par Ashridge fielding a weakened side due to key players missing, came under pressure from the start and were never allowed to settle on the ball. The early pressure imposed by Woodley Hammers paid off as they netted twice before the break, but even at 2 - 0 down Ashridge were still in the game. However Hammers sealed the victory with a further 4 goals during the second period, despite a spirited response from Ashridge resulting in a well taken goal by Scott Smith. The final result was never in doubt and Woodley Hammers march on into the 3rd round. Sunday 18th November 2007 Ashridge Park FC vs Queens Head FC Queens Head forfeited the game as they could only field 5 Players by 10.30 am - a 6th player turned up after 10.45am Phil Tubb (Referee) awarded the game to Ashridge Park - I will send Vernon my copy of the match report with game forfeited written across it. Sunday 25th November 2007 Prince FC 4 - 2 Ashridge Park FC On a sticky pitch Prince secured all three points after converting their chances, despite Ashridge playing the more attractive football for long spells in the game. Prince took the lead after four minutes with an opportunist strike from distance catching the Ashridge Keeper off his line. Prince then doubled their advantage, with a well worked counter attack, which led to a neat close range finish. Ashridge took the game to Prince and with some neat approach play, Jon Austin found the net with a fine strike across the keeper. Ashridge continued to apply the pressure and were unlucky not to score again before the interval. Against the run of play Prince took full advantage of their chances and added a third, only to be pegged back by great finishing from Lewis White to make it 3 - 2 to the home side. Defensive errors allowed Prince in to score a fourth and despite continued pressure by Ashridge, the home team were able to hold on for the win. Sunday 2nd December 2007 Ashridge Park FC 8 - 2 Bracknell Manics Reserves Ashridge cruised into the next round of the Junior Cup with an emphatic win against Bracknell Manics Reserves. By half time Ashridge led 5-1 with goals from Dan Booth, Patrick Lucas and a hat-trick from Ryan Millward. Ashridge continued to dominate in the second half, and further strikes from Ryan Millward, Amrit Singh Labana and James Clubley sealed a deserved win. Sunday 6th January 2008 Royal Oak Wanderers FC 1 - 5 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge started the new year with an impressive win against Royal Oak Wanderers. Ashridge opened the scoring with a neat finish from Amrit Singh Labana. Royal Oak then levelled the score before the break with a well worked counter attack. After the interval Ashridge extended their lead with a strike from Ryan Millward. Ryan Millward then went on to complete his hat-trick and Jonathan Austin sealed the win with a close range finish. Sunday 27th January 2008 Winkfield Sports FC 2 - 0 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge suffered their sixth defeat of the season with a narrow loss against Winkfield Sports. Two goals either side of the break sealed the win for Winkfield Sports. Sunday 3rd February 2008 Queens Head FC 2 - 3 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge picked up all three points despite a spirited performance from a Queens Head side who pushed them all the way. Ashridge took the lead through a low cross from Patrick Lucas that was deflected into the open net by the retreating defender in an attempt to clear the danger. Queens Head struck back just before half time to leave the game nicely poised for the second period. Within four minutes from the restart Queens Head took the lead utilising the long ball over the top catching the Ashridge defence out of position. Ashridge increased the tempo and with some fine approach play levelled the game when Jon Austin played Patrick Lucas in to slot past the Keeper. Lee Eagle's first goal of the season struck from outside of the box made it three and sealed the points for Ashridge. Sunday 10th February FC Fernhill 3 - 1 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge Park failed to make it to the semi final stage of the Bracknell Junior Cup, following a narrow defeat against FC Fernhill. Despite a spirited second half performance Ashridge were unable to recover from two goals down. A comical own goal early in the second half provided Ashridge with an opportunity to get back into the game, however FC Fernhill managed to get the killer third goal, which proved to be enough to book their place in the semi final. Sunday 9th March 2008 Ashridge Park FC 6 - 2 Bracknell Manics Reserves A comprehensive team performance secured all three points for Ashridge Park. Some very quick approach play was rewarded when Jon Austin put Scott Smith through to open the scoring on 15 minutes. On the half hour Jon Austin made it two putting Ashridge firmly in the driver seat only to see Manics pull one back on the stroke of half time. Ashridge stepped up a gear in the second half with Jon Austin netting a further three times to take his tally to five, in reply Manics managed a consolation goal with the game finishing 6 - 2 to Ashridge Park. Sunday 30th March 2008 Ashridge Park FC 2 - 3 3M FC Ashridge Park managed to let a two goal lead slip, as 3M fought back well to take all three points. Ashridge Park raced into a two goal lead with goals from Patrick Lucas and Ryan Millward. 3M pulled one back before the break and went on to win the game with two counter attack finishes. Despite all of Ashridge Park's possession they were unable to break down a well organised 3M defence. Sunday 13th April 2008 Bracknell Manics Reserves 2 - 3 Ashridge Park FC Ashridge Park secured all three points in a competitive game against a full strength Bracknell Manics team. Manics took the lead early in the first half beating the off side trap and netting from close range.Despite chances at both ends neither team were able to break down the well organised defences leaving the advantage with Manics at the break. Ashridge pushed on in the second half making good use of their pace up front and were rewarded with an equaliser when Lewis White's shot was deflected into the net. Jon Austin headed home number two from a fine whipped in cross from Patrick Lucas and Scott Smith tapped in from close range to make it three following some good approach play by Jon Austin and Patrick Lucas. Manics pulled one back but despite pressing for the equaliser they were unable to break down a well organised Ashridge defence. Sunday 20th April 2008 Ashridge Park FC 1 - 3 Royal Oak Wanderers FC Ashridge Park were unable to record their fourth win in a row, as Royal Oak battled back from a goal down to take all three points. Royal Oak led two one at the break, as two quick fire strikes before the interval, cancelled out Patrick Lucas's opener for the home side. Ashridge Park played most of the second half with only nine players and Royal Oak took advantage of this by adding a third late on to seal the win. |
